Our modern drones are the future of cleaning up property, no matter what the weed or where it is, with maximum efficiency and most importantly, minimal wastage. As mentioned on the homepage, drones are capable of a much more thorough chemical application compared to traditional methods - flying at slower speeds and lower altitudes mean that the plant foliage is being rustled about by the rotor wash at the same time the product is being laid down. This means there is much greater penetration and coverage, resulting in better kills - no need for two passes. For example, big gorse bushes will have chemical contact all throughout the bush, rather than just on the outside.
Using our smaller mapping drone, high definition maps/models of the designated spray area can be created, which are then analysed so the target plants can be identified, meaning the spray drone will search and destroy - only spraying unwanted plants and nothing else.
Specific areas that you don't want killed can also be outlined. This is used when formulating the flight mission for our spray drone, which will only spray exactly where we've told it to, meaning you can eradicate gorse nearby native bush for example, without any collateral damage.
With the automated spot spraying technology, blanket spraying patchy weed growth is now a thing of the past, saving great quantities of chemical, also while not stunting surrounding pasture growth - the gorse dies, your clover doesn't.
Another way of spraying with the drone aimed at reducing chemical wastage is the combination of spot spraying and variable rate spraying. If there are areas of weeds that are much thicker and more established, these can be sprayed at a higher rate than areas where the plants are smaller and/or younger. Put simply, the drone will know exactly where to spray based on plant location, and exactly how much product to apply based on plant size.
On the other hand, if the area you want to be sprayed needs total coverage, this is also well within our drones capabilities, no matter how steep or seemingly inaccessible the terrain. Blanket spraying would be particularly useful when scrub is completely covering the ground, or for cleaning up forestry blocks etc. With route angles, swath width, drone altitude, speed, litres per hectare and even spray droplet size all fully customizable, custom flight missions can be created and executed to provide complete kill.
