Slug & Snail Bait Spreading
Along with the usual benefits of applying product aerially, there are many great advantages in drone use for the spreading of slug & snail bait on your farm or property. These include:
- Accuracy. With slug bait spreading being quite a sensitive operation, generally being applied at 4-8kg/ha, getting an accurate & even broadcast is often challenging. Using our drones spreading system accompanied with built in scales and RTK GPS, the precise amount of bait is placed right where you want it, with proof.
- Access. Slug damage is often realised after a crop is established, meaning applying it out of a ground based spreader is going to cause a lot of damage, if it's even possible at all. With the use of our drone, you can eradicate slugs and snails and any point during the crops growth stages, whether you're a horticulturalist growing veggies, or farmer growing a feed crop in the hills, and everything in between.
- Proactive prevention. As an alternative to spreading bait across the entire paddock once the intruders have already established themselves, the drone can be programmed to spread bait around the boundaries of desired paddocks that are susceptible to slugs and snails. This can work to create a defence barrier, essentially keeping them out of your paddocks. This method can be particularly useful in wet & damp areas, or in paddocks with bush surrounding them, as these particular spots are ideal living conditions for slugs and snails. With this preventative method, you're not only saving money on product, but you're eliminating the problem before it starts.
